1996-07 GM 4.3 Performance Mod's
#1-Dual Radiator Fans with a good Fan control. Use Flexalite 400-31165 Fan control
This will add 12+Rearwheel Horsepower and eliminate the Clutch Fan Assembly
#4-If you should want to install headers-There is only one type that will give you Horse
power and save you money in the long run. (Ceramic Coated Shorty Headers)
JBA or Edlbrock & Pacesette are the only ones that I recommend.
The cheep headers will burn yourIgnition wires up and destroy your plastic connectors,
They will turn your engine compartment into a Pizza Oven and that will cost you horsepower
#3-Calatic converter should be replaced If you have between 80 and 100K on your
vehicle -If your vehicle is used for racing or off road you can remove the cat and
install a test pipe and delete the rear 02 sensor.
#6-When Supercharging I recommend 2-3 steps colder on you plugs
Then regap to .035 to .037  This help stop pre-igniton with the junk fuel that
is avaliable.  Use Champion 103-2512YC Plugs- Champion 401
#2- Wynjammer Now offers a Modified GM Fuel system that will give your engine
36lb of fuel for the 40+ Horsepower you were wishing for. Stock system 19lb

#5-A good High Ouput Coil is going to be needed  MSD Blaster  or Accel for the spark to
jump thru the higher Pressure air that the Supercharger will create.
My first recommendation is MSD Blaster coil and good Ignition wires
#12-Fuel System -Wyjammer now sells a 36lb modified Vortec Spider system
with a one year warranty- added to Supercharged engine should give you
  260-275 RWHP  stock the vortec 4.3 is about 140 o 145 WHP

#7- The higher the octane the better it will run-Some fuel conditioners work on the
lower octane fuels and help stop Pre-ignition.
#8-Cams will increase horsepower, I recommend  Comps Cams with a .114 lobe center
to elimnate valve overlap which will cause boost loss.
#9- Roller tip roller rockers will help- 1.5 ratio is stock. 1:6 will work better but you
must machine for them, the valve guide may need to be cut so the seals do not get
hit by the spring retainers an destroy the seals, also check clearance on the pistons.
If you use full roller rockers you will need valve cover risers for clerance I don't
recommend them.
#10- If your removing the heads for a rebuild- Stop- Clean heads, no need for porting,
only portmatching as you will be under pressure.
Install 2.2 Intakes and 1.6 Exhaust valves and a good set of  springs.

#11-If your going to rebuild engine I would buy a new long block as it is cheeper and
it's warranteed by GM -You could buy just a short block have you heads redone
or redo the new ones from a long block. The vortec rods and pistons are good
        for up to 350crank Horsepower.

#13-If your running Standard Transmission I recommend a McCloud or Center
force clutch pressure plate and new throught out bearing.
#14-If you have and automatic transmission have it built to take the Hp& Tq
That you will be getting. Installing a shift kit will save the clutches in the trans.
#15-Rims are more important than just looks. The heavy rim will suck up a lot
of horse power and mainly torque. Remember that torque will get you
there and Horse power will keep you there.
If you going to race I recommend Centerline  Aluminum spun rims and a street drag
Hoosier Tire.  If your spinning tires your losing Races.
#16-The use of shock absorbers for weight transfer is very important.
#17-For  the die hard racer - move the fuel tank next to the tail gate and  battery
